This assessment kit is designed for parents and educators to evaluate a child's readiness across six critical developmental domains. Work through each section, checking off observed skills. Your score at the bottom will guide your next steps. This is not a diagnostic tool — it is a structured observation framework rooted in evidence-based early childhood development research and Biblical principles of whole-child nurturing.
Can count objects up to 10 with one-to-one correspondence
Recognizes and names at least 10 letters of the alphabet
Can sort objects by color, shape, or size
Understands basic concepts: big/small, up/down, more/less
Can complete a simple 4–6 piece puzzle independently
Demonstrates curiosity — asks "why" and "how" questions
Can recall and retell a simple story with beginning, middle, end
Recognizes own name in print
Speaks in complete sentences of 5+ words
Can follow 2–3 step directions without reminders
Understands and uses descriptive vocabulary
Can express needs, feelings, and ideas verbally
Listens attentively during read-alouds for 10+ minutes
Recognizes rhyming words and simple phonetic patterns
Can hold and use a book correctly (right side up, left to right)

Social & Emotional Skills
Separates from parent/caregiver without prolonged distress
Takes turns and shares with peers
Can identify and name basic emotions (happy, sad, angry, scared)
Manages frustration without frequent meltdowns
Follows classroom rules and transitions between activities
Shows empathy toward others in distress
Can play cooperatively with 2+ children
Holds a pencil/crayon with proper grip
Can cut along a straight line with scissors
Draws recognizable shapes: circle, square, triangle
Can hop on one foot and skip
Catches a large ball with both hands
Manages bathroom needs independently
Can dress/undress with minimal assistance

Faith & Character Development
Has been introduced to prayer as a daily practice
Can recite at least one Bible verse or scripture
Demonstrates honesty when corrected
Shows respect for adults and authority figures
Understands the concept of kindness and demonstrates it
Has a sense of personal identity and self-worth
Has been affirmed with positive declarations by caregivers
Child has a consistent sleep routine (10–12 hours/night)
Books are accessible and reading is modeled at home
Child receives nutritious meals daily
Screen time is limited and age-appropriate
Child has regular opportunities for outdoor/physical play
Parent/guardian communicates regularly with educators
Child attends learning environment consistently (low absences)
